 1. Background

We are happy to invite you to join the 3rd Global LMTV Meeting (GLM) 2012! This is the only,  valuable opportunity of the global meeting on LMTV (Long/ Middle Term Voluntary service, some say MLTV) projects/ exchange involving different networks.

In these years, more IVS (International Voluntary Service) NGOs are organizing projects/ exchanging volunteers of LMTV while the common working system for LMTV has not been well established yet as the short term workcamps, so we need to develop it together based on our needs, practice and visions. Also, there is much space to improve the quality of the projects and the volunteers, but we rarely have an opportunity to share know-how and make the global standard, mainly because most of the participants in the international meetings of different networks are mostly in charge of short term workcamps that are still main activities for many IVS NGOs.

This is why the Asia Europe Training for Trainers on LMTV was organized in Tokyo, Japan in 2009 Feb. 11-17 by NVDA (Network for Voluntary Development in Asia) and ASEF (Asia Europe Foundation) hosted by NICE in cooperation with CCIVS (Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service) and ALLIANCE (ALLIANCE of European Voluntary Service Organizations).

Then, NVDA, CCIVS and ALLIANCE co-organized the 1st GLM in Berlin, Germany in 2010 March 02 with 52 participants from 38 NGOs hosted by VJF. 2nd GLM was organized in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2011 April 06-10 with 20 participants from 12 NGOs hosted by VPV that was very productive with a proper size of experienced and motivated activists to work on the common working systems and tools such as vacancy list, handbook, impact form, action plans and so on.

This 3rd GLM is organized with the belief that there are a lot of things to work together toward our common aims of the peaceful, fair and sustainable world through LTMV projects/ exchange. We expect to have more number of qualified & motivated NGOs this time since it will be a very crucial place to modify/ complete the systems and the tools to be implemented all over the world which draft was made in the 2nd GLM, etc. So, you are super welcomed and donft miss it!!
