Welcome to NVDA

     (Network for Voluntary Development in Asia)

NVDA is
   An international networking NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) to promote international voluntary service (especially  international workcamps) in Asia/ Pacific  * In NVDA, "Asia" means "Asia and Pacific regions".

    It was started in 1997 by 11 NGOs in 11 countries and now consists of 22 member NGOs in 16 countries/ area.

   In 2010, NVDA members:
   Organized 974 workcamps/ international voluntary service projects that can estimate to have working power of 477,769 "vols. x days".
    Exchanged 13,290 volunteers which consists of:
    * Hosted 3,864 international (incoming) volunteers in their projects.
    * Hosted 4,963 national (incoming) volunteers in their projects.
    * Sent 4,463 (outgoing) volunteers to the projects all over the world.

   1) Regular Networking Projects
   2) Starting workcamps in new countries
   3) Improving qualities of NGOs and their projects
   4) Sending volunteers to workcamps all over the world
   5) Common actions in Asia for various social issues

NVDA welcomes
   *  NGOs to start international workcamps/ send volunteers to abroad in/ from the countries where there are no projects yet.

   * Volunteers to join the workcamps all over the world from  Asia (from the member NGOs in your country or NVDA itself).

   * Donation for protection of forests and water, support for disadvantaged children, starting workcamps in new countries, etc.

    * Participants for NVDA Common Actions for protection of forests and water, support for disadvantaged children, etc    

*  NVDA organized the 6th Annual meeting (11th -14th Feb) and WTA Special Meeting (13th-16th Feb) in cooperation with IIWC (Indonesia International Work Camp) of PKBI in Semarang, Indonesia  Click here

 * Welcome 3 new associate members of NVDA: Global Voluntary Camps (GVC), Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) in Nepal and Solidarités Jeunesses (SJ) in France were approved by EC members in Jan and Mar 2011 with their general purposes to build network and strengthen cooperation for voluntary development in Asia and other voluntary service.

*  NVDA Executive Committee (EC) meeting 2011: After the World Summit for Forest Actions, the EC meeting of NVDA was held.The purposes of the meeting are discussion about all matters of NVDA and preparation for the 09th TNW & GA in 2012.

*  In cooperation with Implementation Committee of WSFA (World Summit for Forest Actions) and NLAPO (National Land Afforestation Promotion Organization) NICE has organized “World Summit for Forest Actions” in the occasion of "International Year of Forests" and "International Year of Volunteers + 10" from 08th to 10th October 2011 in Tokyo, Japan. *   The global common logo of International workcamp (IWC) 
was finally selected by 5 co-organizers including VYA, NVDA, CCIVS, ALLIANCE and SCI.
The idea of this campaign was originally made in the Asian PR Summit in Tokyo, Nov. 2011 launched by VYA in co-organization with NVDA. This global common logo aims to strengthen the volunteer solidarity, create the global volunteer identity, and support each other all over the world.

 *  NVDA, SJV and NICE organized the 3rd Eco Sponge Action special workcamp (29th April - 05th May) at Fisher village, in Hanoi. Workcamp report!

 * The 2nd Global LMTV (Long/ Middle Term Voluntary service) Meeting was successfully co-organized by VPV, NVDA and CCIVS (from 5th to 9th April) in Hanoi, Vietnam .This important meeting had a valuable opportunity for who are organizing/ exchanging LMTV involving different networks in many aspects (creating new partnership, making a global common working system, etc.) Meeting report!
