An international networking NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) to
promote international voluntary service (especially international workcamps)
in Asia/ Pacific * In NVDA, "Asia" means "Asia and Pacific regions".
It was started in 1997 by 11 NGOs in
11 countries and now
consists of 19 national NGOs in 14 countries/ area.
In 2006-07, the NVDA members
* Organized 1,857 workcamps/ international voluntary service projects
that can estimate to have working power of 318,373 "vols.
x days".
* Hosted 7,102 international (incoming) volunteers in their projects.
* Hosted 9,087 national (incoming) volunteers in their projects.
* Sent 7,702 (outgoing) volunteers to the projects all over the world.

< What's new!? >
The 8th Training & Networking Workcamp
with the 7th General Assembly was held
in 17-26 Jan. 2010 in Taiwan hosted by VYA.

The first workcamp in Hong Kong was
organized by VT Hong Kong, VYA Taiwan and
NICE Japan 19/12/09-03/01/10 with 16 vols.
Group workcamps with HKIEd were organized
in the Philippines and India in 19/12/09-02/01/10
(and in Japan and Nepal in Apr. 2010).
Special Tanabata Workcamp was organized in
Paris 26/11-06/12/09 by vols. to help organizing
International NGO Conference in UNESCO.
Acrylic Sponge Action is organized as the
official common actions for 2008-09. Click here

World Tanabata Action 2009 is
organized with CCIVS at UNESCO, NICE Japan
and CONCORDIA France and we expect to have
20,000 participants from 40 countries. Click here

Group workcamps were co-organized with
HKIEd (Hong Kong Institute of Education) and
EYES in 23/12/08-04/01/09 in the Philippines
(Picture), 05/04-19/04/09 in Japan and Nepal,
and 16/06-29/06 & 16/06-30/07/09 in Mongolia.
Over 70 students have joined the projects.
The 5th Annual Meeting was held in
17-19 Feb. 2009 in Tokyo, Japan with 21 youth
leaders from 15 NGOs in 13 countries.

Training for Trainers for Long and Middle
Term Voluntary service was co-organized with ASEF,
NICE and ALLIANCE in 11-17 Feb. 2009 in Tokyo
with 29 participants from 25 NGOs in 21 countries.
Grant of 500,000 yen was approved by JICS
(Japan International Cooperation System) on 15
Jan. 2009 mainly for the cost for management.

The 5th NVDA Special workcamp "Art
Diem 2008" was co-organized with SJV and YAP
in 08-20 Sep. 2008 in Hanoi, Vietnam. (Report)
Special G8 Workcamp was co-organized
with NICE, HIF and CCIVS in 27 Jun. - 10 Jul. 2008
in Hokkaido, Japan with 12 NGO leaders from 8
countries and over 800 local participants.
